Which makes a whole watching experience a little bit more seamless basically i can just click on apple tv and it will wake my apple tv switch the inputs and i can keep navigating using the same controller to control the apple tv now usually. My vizio remote also controls my apple tv..

But it doesn t control my tivo and that s where it starts. You know getting a little bit complicated with all the controllers. So one thing to keep in mind. Here.
Is that there are some trade offs with using right basically you re not going to get a controller that s going to be as good as your original controller in most cases. So it s not going to be as full featured as my tv remote or as quick to switch between things like my vizio remote in the case of the apple tv. I m letting go of siri and i can t scroll as fast nor planning games with it i can of course just use the remote for the apple tv whenever i want to but that s something to keep in mind that you re not going to get the same functionality out of this controller as you would out of all the different controllers. But i think most of the main features are there and if you don t mind those little trade offs and can handle that for the sake of being able to kind of merge all your devices into being controlled by one then it s really great remote.
There. s also a kids and sports app. Which will help you find more specific shows in the case that you have some friends over or just easy access for sport. Channels.
Or cartoon. Slash kids shows just great. So. If your kid and picks up.
The controller. You can easily click on kids. And find a show that he likes or if someone else is over they can easily navigate to that and not have to meddle with the you know switching the channels and looking for something they just click on the little icon. When you put ray into remote control mode. You get a very touch friendly interface for your controllers. And i say controllers because you can actually switch between them texts different settings and buttons..

For example. I do need to use the vizio remote to launch the 4k version of netflix and each remote will have a preset number of buttons that you can go in and add any missing button. If you wanted to so in my case i add a netflix amazon video in our heart radio to my vizio remote so i can access that it s really nice to have you know only the buttons you really need so it doesn t get too over complicated right there on the touch menu now the control layout does have numerous tabs. So if you want to let s say get to the number pad.
It is going to take longer than would on a normal remote. But the point is here that you wouldn t necessarily need the number pad as much as you have the apps with the guide and recommendations to get you to you know your favorite tv shows on the right side of the remote. We do have a volume rocker a mute switch in a sleeping wake button all of which are very responsive and the cool thing is that you don t have to wake the remote before clicking something the remote just sends a signal like a normal remote. Which is great so when you need to mute the tv quickly you just click the button or you need to lower the volume.
Which was recently added an update you can just lower the volume. Without turning on the screen. Which is really nice the build quality is also great for a remote control army. It s amazing.
It has aluminum on the side and glass in the front and back which makes it feel like a thicker iphone 5 and that s a good thing and one thing i really like is the flat edges at the bottom top and on the side. Which makes it easy to prop up on a table or desk. It s not too important. But it s a design choice.
I really like because sometimes if there s no space on the table to put it you know normally flat. Then you can stand it up. And it won t tip over with the table shaking a little bit now rate doesn t solve the problem of universal remote controllers. But it definitely takes a huge leap in the right direction the first thing to note is that while this will replace on many controllers.
It s not going to be as great as the original devices controller as i mentioned so of course you re not going to get siri you re not going to get quick scrolling. You won t be able to just feel the keys and click on something unless. It s the volume up or you know mute button..

And you know you re not going to get as quicker response from the raver mode as you would from a normal robot. But i mean the difference is really going to be only like a millisecond or something like that it s not going to make a huge difference. But of course. It s just not as responsive as your actual remote controller for the device.
So overall. It s a pretty straightforward device. And it works. Just as you would want a touchscreen remote to work and at 250 dollars.
It s definitely a little bit on the expensive side for a remote. Most people might be scared away by the price tag. But of course. This is one of those firstworldproblems type of things where if you want a solution to this it s going to kind of cost you quite a bit of money so.
If you kind of hate having a bunch of controllers around you want something that s going to look nice on your table or on your nightstand or wherever you want to put it then you know here it is and it s two hundred and fifty dollars. Now it definitely has you know made switching channels and finding things to watch a lot easier and the cool thing is if they have actually added apps to it. So you can actually control your nest. Thermostat and recently they added hue by philips to change the lights in your room.
If you have those and it s safe to assume that they ll only keep adding more apps and improving the device in the future. But yeah guys that s pretty much it for this video.
