“Guys. This is gonna be a review video of the lg venice from boost mobile. Mobile. So let s get on to it alright guys so the lg of venice obviously made by lg and it s on boost mobile.
So it s gonna be a cheaper phone since it s on boost mobile. But it does actually work pretty nice for a boost mobile phone. So let s get on with some of some of the stuff that the phone has now on the. Front you ll obviously see the.
Screen which measured diagonally is 43 inches. I have a lot of smudges all over i tried to clean mouth sorry on the top right here you will see the front facing camera. Which is vga. Which means it s point 3 megapixels.
So that is not good at all. But again it is the front facing camera. Which you probably won t use that often except for like you know video calls and stuff like that on the bottom here. You ll find a physical button.
Which takes you home. And you also have the sensitive buttons. Which are back and menu choose you can see right there back in menu on the top here you ll find a headphone jack and your power button alright on the left side you ll find the volume rocker. Which is flushed into it you can t hardly even see it.
But the buttons on here are very very solid. They re not flimsy. But they are flushed into the device. So it s kind of hard to find we just run your finger along it.
But they are nice buttons same as with the top power button and the home button also on the bottom. Here you ll find the micro usb port obviously for charging and connecting computer. And all sorts of other stuff you can do with that and you ll find the microphone obviously and on the right side. You will have nothing on the back here eally five megapixel camera.
Which is ok. It s ok for normal everyday pictures of course. If you our our actual photographer. I want to take normal pictures then ever want to take you know high quality pictures.
You re obviously not going to be using this because it s not nearly good enough for that but as a five megapixel camera..
And it does have flash. So that s nice you also have the speaker grille that is right there. Which is okay and you also have a textured back. But you know some people like some people don t like i personally like it some people think it makes it look makes it feel cheap.
I d rather have a text be like this rather than a smooth feel we re kind of like just slides off your fingers. I like having the grip. There although maybe it does kind of make it feel cheap. But i do like having just that grip you know it also has you know the chrome looking plastic on the sides pretty much all over it and the really the only metal is around the.
Camera it seems like the screen on the lg venice is a 43 inch screen as i said earlier it s 480 by 800 pixels. Which is all right for you know a lower grade phone. But you re obviously gonna want high in that i found that that brightness on it was extremely extremely well it lit up a lot the colors are pretty vibrant. And you know i can t really tell a huge huge difference between you know like hd.
Kinda phone screens and this kind of phone screen. It s obviously gonna be a huge difference. If you like compare them one by another you know put the other phone right there and look at the difference. But as far as just looking at this one screen and trying to read text you can obviously tell it s a lower grade screen.
But it s not a huge thing and you won t be you know like regretting that you bought the phone because of the screen. I was actually pretty surprised with the performance of the device. Because it does have a 1 gigahertz processor in it and that s it so i figured it d be a little bit slow. It is actually pretty speedy.
It really surprised me in that regard and the operating system may have on the air is obviously android 40. But it is the customized version of it the lg has and i found it relatively nice. You know i m kind of done with the company is kind of overlaying their own themes on top of android. I d rather prefer a stock version.
But you know it s ok with lg s version. I really like the the quick settings on the top of here. Where you can just choose stuff to do really quick you know turn up the sound what wi fi brightness power saver and of course. You can go ahead and edit that and put in there whatever you d like it s really really cool.
They do that and you can also oh i m sorry about that you can also go into the notifications here and you know go straight in the settings from that button. Which cool. So you know i found that the phone was really surprising and aspeed regard. And you know they also have mobile id.
Which is if you don t know that is let me see..
If i can go ahead and open. It now mobile id. Where is it with you if you don t know what it is what it really allows you to do is set themes for your phone. Because they already have theme set so go ahead and choose boost right there you can go ahead and get new id packages and manage your packages and whatnot.
I don t find this too useful because i m a advanced to use it for android. But if you are a basic user this would probably be really useful for you because all the stuff it does. But yeah it just puts a theme on it for you and kind of easily manages your icons puts them all over the place puts widgets on there for you so you know it s relatively cool. If you don t know where what to do with your stuff how to put icons and widgets all over the screen.
But if you do and you ve been using android for a while then it s probably not something you will you ll really use that often and i found that the speed again was really really good didn t really lag on anything let me go ahead and open angry. Birds you can see how fast the game actually loads of course angry birds isn t a super super intensive game. But it is a little bit of minutes of course a game. And it is a pretty high quality game let me go ahead and play a level or something real quick.
I ve only played this once i probably suck at it. Oh oh. It was a movie. No wonder why i really don t even know what i m doing.
But as you can see it s not really laggy. I can go back and forth. And it s not messing up and of course. See there s really no lag.
So you know it is it s very speedy upon maybe some slowness when i was using the browser like me normal native android browser but as far as like chrome another browser to go it worked pretty well okay. So let s go ahead and talk about the battery now and there s a 1700 milliamp hour battery. Which is supposed to last a long time. According to the company of course they all say that but it really doesn t last that long in reality.
It lasted. Me about i would say about 10 ish hours. And you know it varies from day to day because you use it differently each day. But mine usually lasted around 10 or 11 hours now to get to the battery at the take off the case.
And there s no like indention anywhere along the sides to be able to put your finger in and kind of just pull it out easily. You really just have a stick like your fingernail in there and kind of like rip it open which kind of sucks. But you don t have a fingernail. It s gonna be really hard to do so you just bear that in mind so here s the battery.
You know you also have your micro sd card right..
There. Which is 2 gigabytes. So it s an okay size to begin with it s obviously not gonna be like a 16. He bites that you get an iphone internally.
When you get in the phone with the sd card when you buy it i m like verizon wireless or something because this is boost mobile. But anyway yeah i did get relatively good battery time with this device again like 10 11. Ish hours. It s going to depend on you if you re a hardcore user you ll probably get like around nine ish and if you don t use that often to probably get like twelve or thirteen.
But for a casual user yeah somewhere around nine or ten eleven maybe so i was pretty good it s gonna last you around you know a workday. It s not gonna last you a whole 24 hours anything. But it will last you around a entire workday. So it s nice in that regard.
So let s go ahead and get onto the camera. Now something bootloader unlock key has been sent to my email address. So i m gonna go ahead. And check my email and boom.
Shakalaka. Oh. You should have an attachment called all locked up in go ahead download. And go ahead and show this in the folder.
And go ahead and drag this into the fastboot folder alright now next go back to the command prompt and we re gonna type fastboot space flash space unlock space unlock the top in that s pretty much it go ahead and enter and this will unlock the bootloader alright and if you go back to your phone. You ll say how to exit fastboot mode alright that means. It s been unlocked go back to your computer and type fastboot. Faced reboots alright and your device.
Offer if you get that warning that means that your phone has been completely unlocked bootloader bootloader. Unlocked. Alright and everything will get a trace here also if you go back to the command. Prompt you ll see that a bootloader on lock key.
Flash. Success. All right. Which means your bootloader has been completely unlocked.
Now..
Why am i unlocking the bootloader on my lgb 20 um. The v 20. Honestly has been lagging on me lately especially at startup everything lags so i m gonna probably install an aosp rom sort of like lineage drums or maybe resurrection remakes um. That s gonna make it run a ton faster because lg software on the v 20 is just super laggy and it s just not taking you know it s not maximizing it and i m still on android 7 auto with custom.
Roms i m gonna be able to upgrade it to the latest android 81 oreo now with aosp roms. I m gonna lose my second screen most likely but you know what so long as i can use the cameras. I really don t care at this point. I just want to use a wide angle.
Because i use this phone for live streaming anyways and i may start playing with some other roms that also based on lg. So i don t have to lose my second screen alright at this point your phone is fully unlocked. Whether you have on lg v. 20.
Or other devices. That the lg supports go ahead and sign. In and you should be good to go now next step is obviously you re gonna go ahead. And use fastboot.
Two flash twrp recovery. I ll have a video tutorial on that or if you know how to do it already go ahead and help yourself now for the lg v. 20. There is no official tour you can go ahead and download the unofficial versions that s floating on the online.
But yeah. It s been a while since they developed that so it should work flawless even though it s not official. You can see how laggy even the set up process is this is why i don t want to keep using the lg software umm. This is another reason why you should root your phone especially after it you know ages couple years look at how slaggy that is oh my god so with them they are sp wrong.
It s gonna fix all that um. But if you got to this point. You should be good to go have a great day. Now you ve learned how to unlock.
