“Guys it s carl brown for guitar. Lessons 365com. Today. We re gonna take a a look at metallica seek and destroy.
We re going to take down all the riffs. The only thing we re not going to cover is the middle fast section with the solo. If you guys want to do that just let me know and i ll tackle that one for you too. But we re going to get most of the song done today.
So let s start here. We re in a standard tune. Guitar. Paul muted open a string.
Twice. And then at the seventh fret on the g string hammer. On seven to eight. Then fix.
Seven. Now you re going to hit the palm muted. A string. Once and then the same thing.
We did on the g string. Oh. A alright now..
I m going to start that upward climb. The palm muted open a one more time. Then you re going to play. Eight seven on the a string.
That s palm you did as well then five on the d to seven on the a and then the five on the g to the seven on the d. So we have this all together. Do you beat. Them now.
This riff has a little ending that sounds like this all right. So you gonna play this a few times in the song kind of slide into the ninth fret on the g. Then seven on the gym. Then nine on the be back to seven on the g nine eight seven on the d.
Don t you pick up seven slide. It down to the fifth fret all right now it goes to the title of main riff. Here pretty simple open low e string kind of paul muted. Four times.
It s downstrokes and then we can play five on the d. And the a string together little bar. Then the same thing at the seventh fret. Just you do that with your third bam.
So two little bars here this for more downstrokes on the open e. And then we re going to go. 7..
5. On the a76 on the de all right from there they go into this roof. All right so just kind of chug around on the low e for a little bit. 12.
Times to be exact and then 7 6. On the low e 2. 5. On the d7 on the that s the verse of this song.
Where you can say just one of the vocals come in is going to be over that riff and then we have this which is really kind of acts as a pre course all right so we re just playing now the bar across the the fifth fret across the g. And the d strings. This time. And then down to the open a getting some just some muted notes.
There and then you re gonna pick the two fives again slide them up to the seventh fret and come back to the disparate all right so after doing that a few times. You can have this little. One. All right.
So. We have 75 on the g. 7. 6.
5. On the d. And that s 7 6..
5. Again on the egg. You alright. Then you go back to the course.
Then it goes to the ending that we did in the from the intro. I repeat that twice that takes you into the chorus chorus sounds like this all right so what s going on there. We have just a power chord here at the tenth fret on the g stun. The a string the g power chord.
The midnight seven just for chart on the palm. Muted. Low e string with it and then duty alright. Then we go back to you know some of the same chords again same riffs.
Then you get to that fast section. Where the solos at so once again. If you guys want to do that to let me know and then we have this ending part where the wrist. We kind of changes things up a little bit.
It s a couple different things that end us. All first one sounds like this all right so pretty simple. We re going to that power cord again to the tenth fret up here to ten nine and a couple of paul mutes on the low e string. Then go nine eight more pawn mutes.
Then eight seven slowly all right from there we go back to the ten nine. Then nine five then 5 7. So goes 10 9..
Nine five five seven. So all together let s repeat that all right then we have this that kind of ends this all it s a really last main riff. So do this all right so more low e string. I didn t need to hit this second fret on the a and the d string together back to some palm muting.
Then the power chord is the third fret on the low e string. You just find the third fret. There. And the fifth fret on the a this time then more closely muted and then he s going to move that that third front power chord.
Just move the first finger back to the second fret. You still get the fifth right here in the egg. Then more reading in between and back to the standard power chord of the frets way of this all right you see i m just doing a couple of palm boots open ease in between each. And then we re going to move up here to the power cord at the fifth fret and slide it down to the third string.
All together. So you just kind of repeat that and then at the very end they just do that little same little ending that we did in the intro all right so that s the same ending. Done three times and then one two three four on the loi finishing with that power chord at the seventh fret on the a string all right so let me guys if you got let me know if you guys want to do that fast middle section and a solo. I m sure people will i just want to make sure before i get to work on it all right.
I ll see you then good bye. ” ..
