I know god tongue. God tongue kind of just means someone who has an amazing palate someone like gordon ramsay. One of my idols right. He has a very delicate palate and what that means is someone who can taste the nuances and something that may be very similar to itself different types of salt different types of pepper different types of sour different types of sweet those things are actually very hard to detect a lot of the time unless you really are trained in that way so in this episode.
We re gonna take a look at who is responsible or have her having the god tongue. This already looks delicious. I want to eat that we start up the episode. With what looks like some kind of rice bowl with a little bit of broth in it looks.
Like it d actually be kind of appetizing and then we have i m assuming god tong here takes a moment to savor what looks to be a decent dish and all of a sudden. How does she enjoy it oh okay. That s how you enjoy your dish. That s what it s that s what it s like so.
The dish apparently is like having a very nice bowl of dirty guerrilla bathwater. There s only there s only maybe one person who can compare your food to dirty guerrilla bathwater. That s probably gordon ramsay. I mean could you imagine he walks in there and tries her soup and it is this soup tastes like dirty guerrillas bathwater you donkey so apparently so was dad left his fifteen year old son to go off to culinary school.
I would assume you know it s one of those things where hey buddy you know what you got this. Enjoy the rest of your time. I m leaving to go hang out with some pretty women and make them some food. I don t know it definitely looks like sohmas dad is a it s a traveling chef of some kind in fancy fancy restaurants.

What anybody tells you guys the way to someone s heart is through food promise you learn how to cook. It s gonna do you well then we got soma. We don t know what he put in the stock yet. Our isn t taking us for eggs. He s gonna beat the eggs. What on earth is he making with looks like stock could be vegetable could be chicken has scallions that s all we know then he has a tandoori oven.
Which is used in a lot of indian cuisine um. It s something where you slow stu stuff so i don t really know what he was going with the tandoori at this point. Making. Something on his secret menu.
Secret menus are the best. It now has one starbucks has one you should definitely look into ordering stuff off of a secret menu. What is he making so do you guys see what s on the screen right now forty kaki go do you know what forty kaki is foodie cocky is a rice seasoning..
It usually has like dried salmon skin in it it ll have seaweed in it some. Salt. Some spice some sweet. It s really really nice and in tokyo.
When i was at convenience stores. They would literally have rice bowls and you could just take some for decocking put it on top and that was your your snack. Very action is very appropriate right now because what they re imagining is some janke sweet street food that you can pay about seventy five cents for yep that s the reaction. I would give and it s true like what are you gonna do with forty cocky gohan like seasoned rice here s the thing rice is amazing eggs are amazing both of them go so well together.
And i ve had it with forty kaki. So what are you making with your free air conditioning. Transforming seasoning. Okay.
Let s see what you got buddy. I have made this before too we have he still has flowing these these kitchens are so well equipped. It s amazing. Where s the draft coming from it has to be coming from the air conditioning okay scrambled eggs awesome scrambled eggs he s gonna take off his disgusting headband and probably wrap it around his wrist at some point to wear throughout the entire show.
He s calling him out on being a second rate cook. But you know what like i said mom and pop shops can be some of the best food on the planet. And you know let s get back to the dish. What s in the bowl.
She didn t take a look so you see what those are i m gonna explain to you guys what those actually are here s the thing. He has regular white rice right and now he has his seasoning. Which is this so it looks like we have some gelatin and some scrambled eggs. It s probably seasoned really nicely.
I m assuming he s going to garnish it with the green onion that he chopped earlier. But it s yeah it doesn t work dude doesn t work at rice. So here s the thing guys that gelatin right if there is gelatin in it it dissolves at about 60 degrees celsius right which comes out to about 140 degrees fahrenheit. So at the rate that it was melting that rice is stupidly hot okay you re not gonna be able to eat it so grant it maybe you can wait a second wait for it to cool down.
And then eat it and then you have you know you can enjoy it. But if it also has gelatin it doesn t coat doesn t melt that way it just doesn t it s gonna be weird. It s gonna be viscous all right she finally wants to try it with her free air conditioning..
Okay now he finished garnishing with scallions. Which you know what he did it well there you should always garnish with scallions at the end so they don t get weird and funky and slimy. Whenever your scallions hit anything a hot. They do that here we go try it try your coated rice with gelatin are we gonna have a second coming nope yep.
There it is though it s a speck in the what is it so the squares are aspic and jealous. So it s aspic is basically gelatin right so he didn t use gelatin. Which is great because gelatin itself. Doesn t melt.
Very well. So it looks like looks like what he did is he took that chicken stock and reduce it to a point to where it actually became its own gelatin. Which i will admit that it does melt at a lower temperature than any kind of regular gelatin. Like you would use for like jello.
Right. Regular jello has gelatin in it to create that gooey solidified mess. This however is just reduced chicken stock so they re glorifying. It a little bit they re calling it aspect.
But realistically if you take chicken stock. If you buy a fresh chicken. That s raw and you cook it down and you keep the broth. That broth can be reduced into exactly this which could be cut and then you know used in this way.
Good thing that they re explaining is that he had used chicken wings instead of just chicken bones or chicken breast or anything like that which is great because chicken wings. Do have a good amount of gelatin in them. However if you can use chicken feet they actually have a lot more gelatin content than made chicken wings. I would highly recommend you if you re trying to do this dish find some chicken feet and throw that into your broth.
It s gonna help you give it that really nice solid gelatin behind it what s the consensus here. Nina you like foodie cocky gohan. Yes. Comes the experience.

We saw soma take on the challenge of using the egg. The tamago right and he made forty cocky gohan seasoned rice. Now here s the thing season of rice in japan is very popular and you can find it at almost any convenience store. And it is delicious.
It s made really well it can be very very fresh. It s a go to snack item. I loved eating it out there. But he stepped it up by making a gelatin out of a soup or a chicken broth.
Now here s what you can do at home brookman go into your local grocery store and picking up a whole chicken. A whole raw chicken searing that just a little bit on every side. That you can in some kind of you know i use a roasting pan. If you will you re gonna take that you re gonna put it into a pot you re gonna add some carrots.
You re gonna add some onions. You re gonna add some celery to make a mirepoix then you re gonna cover it with water and you re gonna continue to cook that over a very long period of time on a very very very low simmer. This is gonna start releasing all of the gelatin in it now you re like paul will use it on the chicken wings. That s true but on the cheap you can buy these chickens for four or five bucks.
You re gonna take that chicken out once it is all done you re gonna take all the meat off of it then you re gonna actually fold that meat into your rice that he cooked so you actually can utilize all of it then can go ahead and make your gelatin cubes scramble some eggs call it a day dump that all it s so good when you have it that way so. You having chicken rice. With your gelatin. With your eggs.
