It s a lot thicker than the one that comes with your phone so this contains the inductive charger technology and you have the electrical contact points on the back which interface with the battery of the phone. So let s go ahead and peel this part off there you go so you can see your samsung branding nice grippy texture to the surface also protects the phone from scratches you see a little led indicator up here on the back. We have a nice rubber foot pad to regret it to this from sliding around on your desk. So let s go ahead take a look at the phone.

Letting us know that this is charging and you re good to go so. It s charging. It will charge a little faster than standard usb. So we ll charge about 650 ml answer versus the standard 500 milliamp.

I really like wireless charging especially with micro usb because i find myself having the fumble. With the micro usb port quite a bit you never know which way. It s supposed to go in you have to look closely at it if it s a dark room or if it s late at night. It s kind of hard to see so especially with micro usb.
I find the wireless charging to be a very nice option something like the lightning cable on the iphone is less of an issue because you can stick it in either. Way doesn t matter is a lot easier to connect up. But with something like micro usb. There s a lot of advantages to the wireless charging standard.
The unfortunate thing with the gs4 is that this case is a lot thicker adds. Quite a bit of thickness to the phone versus the standard case back panel. So means. It s not compatible with a lot of cases factory.
If you want to put the case on your phone. You re going to have to find something that s compatible with the wireless charging backplate. But the good thing here is that if you look on the back..

You can see that we have this raised lip around the camera. It s usually the reverse here use it the camera is sticking out of the case. But in this case. The camera is recessed.
Which provides some protection to the camera lens. I find that if you go caseless and you rest the phone on the back the bezel around the camera tends to scratch. So this provides some extra protection for it of course you can see that the led flash is pretty deeply recessed. There which does impact performance a little bit.
But it s kind of minor now if you want to use a case with your battery charger. This will work so for example. I have the speck candyshell. This is a standard speck candyshell.
It s not designed to fit the battery case in fact you can see it kind of sticks out above. It s really crammed on there so it s not really working too well. But just to show you if you put it on the surface. It will charge for you through that case.
